Maharashtra is a combination of 5 colorful cultures. Mainly known as Konkan, Paschim Maharashtra, Khandesh, Marathwada n Vidarbha. Every part has its own culture, language n food.
Konkan is spread across Mumbai to Sindhudurga district which is coastal line of Maharashtra. There local language is Konkani and Malvani. This coastal area carries beautiful cultural treasure. Konkani/Malvani cuisine is very well acclaimed across the globe. It comprises of variety of fish recipes, crabs and more of authentic sea food. Also Malvani cuisine holds its speciality in Kombadi Vade and Chicken Sukka. Being a Coastal area every authentic recipe is incomplete without Coconut. Solakadi is the famous Digestive Drink made from kokum and Coconut Milk.
Konkan is also known worldwide for mangoes, Cashews, Coconuts. Hapus (Alphanso) Mango is the King of mangoes. It holds a great value in International Market. Coastal Maharashtra is rich in production of quality Cashews.


Paschim Maharashtra is united with mainly kolhapur, solapur, satara, sangli n pune, because of maximum fertile land there is abundant production of millets, sugarcane n milk.
This part is famous for kolhapuri misal, tambada pandhara rassa, mutton rassa, jwari-bajri bhakri and spicy in food.


Khandesh is situated around Tapi River, surrounded by Satpura Range. Comprises of Jalgaon, Nashik, Nandurbar,Dhule district. The soul of Khandeshi food is the 'Thecha's' and 'Chutneys'. Garlic chutney, Sesame chutney, Green Chilly thecha to name few. Dry coconut, Peanut oil and small dark green chilly (extra spicy) are the main ingredients of Khandeshi cuisine. Khandeshi Kala Masala is the secret of all curry recipes (Mutton Rassa,Shev bhaji etc.) Eggplant recipes are another speciality of Khandeshi cuisine, Khandheshi style Vangyache bharit, Ghotleli Vaangi are few of them.


Marathwada is united with Aurangabaad, Beed, Jalna, Latur, Jalna, Osmanabad, Parbhani Districts. Hirvya Chinchecha thecha, Hurdyachi Usal, Bhendi chi taak ghalun keleli bhaaji, Muughachya dalichi bhaji, Bhagarichi bhakri are a few delicious and well known dishes from Marathwada cuisine.


Vidarbha is comprised of Nagpur and Amravati division. Patoli Rassa, Kalnyachi Bhakri, Vada bhaat, Gola bhaat,Varhadi Thecha is a staple diet of Vidarbha. Saoji Curries are the famous from Vidarbha. Its known for its very hot and spice flavour, generally served in small hotels or khanavali.
